They Warned Us NOT to Ride into Mexico
After riding 3,000 miles across the US, we were now in Tucson, Arizona. Days away from crossing the border into Mexico, people warned us not to leave the US.

Y'all just came up in my feed today, subscribed really enjoyed this first video and looking forward to the rest of the series
Amazing!!! Instead of thinking to change the seat, think seriously change the suspension: ruclips.net/video/3su87i_WZ70/видео.html in 05:32 😇
I live up in Phoenix and haven't heard of Moto Sonora before. I will definitely be making a trip down there to try them out! Looking forward to the next installment :)
I love mine. It is the perfect do everything bike that does not look like a transformer.
I want that exhaust and the progressive springs, could you provide links for both ?
Sounds like a miserable trip.
Absolutely brilliant video n greetings from over here in the UK I ride lotta classic Nortons on my other channel :) it’s been interesting looking for a modern bike to replace the T7 I got for my dad. Just incase you don’t know I’m pretty sure you can buy the cruise control from triumph now looks about £350 over here thanks again for the brilliant video took ages to get through all the paid reviews and then find some owner ones great video.
I love these videos
There's guys in India and around the world that live off a motorcycle better than anybody I've seen on utube. Except me! Huh.
What center stand is it? Only one I found online for newer 1200 XE is hepco becker... good video though. Nice tips.
That's exactly which one it is. www.motomachines.com/hepco-becker-center-stand-triumph-scrambler-1200-xe
Scramblers are streetbike-based, with some dirt improvements. Dualsports are dirtbike-based, with some pavement improvements. Some are better at splitting the difference than others. I have a Suzuki DR650 dualsport. It's basically a big dirtbike that, with power mods and a big tank, does surprisingly well at hauling a passenger and luggage on slab. My wife has a Benelli Leoncino Trail 500 scrambler. With DOT knobbies and a skidplate, it does surprisingly well on ATV trails. Scramblers tend to look a bit classier when cleaned up.
The DR650 is a classic!
Can you wear AirPods with these on?
Well, sort of. I don't wear AirPods while riding but I just tried putting the helmet on with them in. What I found was they loosen up while putting the helmet on, but didn't get knocked out. When I removed the helmet one fell out. I definitely think you probably could. Might just need to get a finger in there to push the AirPod back in if it came out slightly from the putting the helmet back on. No pressure on the AirPods with the helmet on. At least for me.
Thanks for video , bro!
Thanks for watching!
I’ve had center stands on a number of bikes but recently I removed one from my bike, because it required two people to employ it. Although I had larger and heavier bikes with center stands, this center stand was in some way so poorly designed that it wasn’t practical. On this bike I currently use a trail stand to lubricate my chain.
Caitlyn's Rebel is kind of like that. Not a problem to put it on the center stand, but it lifts the bike up a lot higher than it needs to. Makes it more difficult than it needs to be.
been on that I-40 many times. Buckee's is your friend.
I sure do love those chopped brisket sandwiches.
What a lovely bike it is!
And built really solid!
promo sm ✅
What do you think . Is this bike to small for me , im 6.5’ ( 195 cm ) ?
Assuming you have a long inseam, I do think you'll be cramped on the bike. My husband is 5'11" with a 33" inseam he can ride it, but is a bit too cramped for a long period of riding. With forward foot controls it might be a bit better.
Crash bobbins for the front forks and rear swing arm and handle bar ends. 12 v din power point, so able to charge things on the move. May be a tank bag( nine magnetic) .
Man what mirrors are those? Great video by the way!! Can’t wait to rip mine around the desert of El Paso
They are bar end mirrors from Rizoma, with a blue tint to help combat with bright headlights behind you. They have held up well, never braking with drops or a few crashes. That's a great area to be in for the Scrambler!
What’s a street scrambler?.
Triumph Street Scrambler, now just called the Triumph Scrambler 900. Basically a Bonneville with off-road styling. Or if you compared it to this bike, it's this but with 4.7" of suspension travel, a 900cc engine, and lesser spec'd brakes, suspension, 19" front wheel instead of 21", etc.
nice video, have you never had any problems/issue with engine? has enough power in highway? doubt about 500 vs 1100 rebel!!?? Anyway great video Be safe & God bless 🙏
We're going to make some videos about all this but no engine issues. Rode this Rebel 30k miles all around North America. No issues riding at 80mph on the highway. The bike can get up to 100mph. Caitlyn has no desire to go up to the 1100, but certainly for me the more power would be fun for me (I'm going from a 1200) but I also enjoy the 500. It's enough, but for someone that wants more power/acceleration in a Rebel package, the 1100 is the way to go.
Can you give me information about the luggage rack installed on the xe model in the video? There is a lot of lack of information in Korea.
The racks are from Metal Mule, but their website appears to be down, as I couldn't get you a link. There's also racks from Unit Garage that'll work with the Lone Rider bags.
Hello good afternoon. I just found your channel, this particular episode is awesome. I have not gone through everything you have, but I do want to ask you if you did modifications or improvements to the suspension. I am a tall and big guy and one of the ones that found that the suspension is not for me and there is not that much room for improvement… I left the bike parked for months now, I may sell it, but I want to check if there are already options for this issue. Thanks.
TEC makes stiffer springs for the rear. For my weight, the suspension is great. It just needs to be set right for riding styles. But I don't weigh much, so if the sag isn't right on the rear then you add stiffer springs.
Can you tell me where the side bag rack is made from? I also want to equip the Lone Riderbag
In case you don't see my other comment: The racks are from Metal Mule, but their website appears to be down, as I couldn't get you a link. There's also racks from Unit Garage that'll work with the Lone Rider bags.
Are you sure heard mixed reviews the should work but not straight forward plug and play ?? Anybody has done the fitting of lone rider or Mosko Moto soft luggage bags to unit garage rack? And has some photos to share?
@@Plaubel17 Keep in mind I don't own the Unit Garage racks to test this, but there's a least one person using the Lone Rider bags with the Unit Garage rack on the Scrambler 1200 facebook group. I originally went with Metal Mule because I had already seen someone use the LR bags with that rack.
That's great! Thank you for sharing 😁
Love your bike !!!
Thank you!
Those tires ❤ what is the name ? Need it.
I think in this video I had a Pirelli Scorpion Rally on the rear, and a TKC80 on the front. I've used TKC80s on front and rear and they have been great on and off-road.
Just watched this stream after the fact. I really enjoy your content and so greatly appreciate all the hard work I know it takes. You both deserve so much for all your great work I hope you get the recognition you deserve. Meanwhile I’ll keep watching and sharing with others. Be well and keep on keeping on!
Once again, really appreciate all the comments and the support. It really helps!
I have to say, you both make it look easy! I have tried about 20 times now and the bike just skids on the centre stand feet and won't go up on it. I'm exhausted from trying every foot and body angle and grip.
What kind of bike are you trying it on? Some bikes have weird quirks, and you have to find what works best for that bike. Caitlyn's Honda Rebel is pretty difficult because the center stand lifts the rear tire so high off the ground.
@@ScramblerStories I have a 2022 Bonneville T120. I kept watching your video, and I've been able to put it up twice now, still with a little difficulty, but I think I'm still off a little bit on my technique. Thank you so much for your reply, and safe riding to you both.
Just sent you some PayPal funds. Appreciate the content greatly and yes the quality improvements are for sure noticeable, but to be honest I was fine from day one because your content is real, honest, and just super legit. Thats what makes it great. Scramble on dude!
Really appreciate the contribution, as well as all of the nice comments. Helps keep us going, especially when we have such long edit times to make a video. We have 100s of hours of video to go through. But certainly all the Mexico videos are going to be great!
Oh NOOOOOO! Just watched this, binging from the beginning… glad you’re ok. You guys rock ! !!
On the plus side, a rather interest souvenir to bring back from Baja.
Great stuff as always , thanks much mate! Be well!
How does this compare to the 2013 Harley Sportster 1200 custom?
I haven't ridden one personally, but the Triumph is certainly lighter. An air cooled Harley has much more of vintage bike feel in my opinion, whereas the Triumph will feel smoother and more refined. Both are great platforms for customization.
Y’all are really great, and cute, love the content, hope you keep it coming. Cheers!
Dude! That 2nd massive hit was like watching someone do bull riding from Marek’s view. That was insane you made it…until you hit the soft part, damn!!!
I know, for a split second there, I thought I was about to have a very bad day!
Man you need to give yourself way more credit. That was some difficult terrain for a scrambler and most people would have quit. You made it! Well done Sir!
It's also a valuable example of that skid plate being worth the money! 🤣
I’m late to the party but currently been watching your channel from the beginning and I’m at the 3 yr mark. Just had to pause cuz I was too choked up in tears over Leroy, so hard. Your videos capture what I feel for my own bike journey and I greatly appreciate how your work is just you being you and not trying to be like some other channel with millions of views. Can’t wait to watch more. Thanks man!
Appreciate all that! Yeah, we miss Leroy.
if you don't mind mate may i know the exhaust heat on 1200xe or 900 scrambler on a hot weather. Im a south asian and the weather here is hot and planning to get one of the scrambler.
For me it's definitely hotter on the 1200. Both are fine when you're moving, but if you're in traffic on a summer day, you'll feel it. For some it's a deal break, not for me. And I keep my leg generally hugged up against it. Not a bike for shorts though!
@@ScramblerStories Thanks for the reply mate, so when it's moving you wont feel the heat much.
@@muhammadizwan1076 No it's fine when moving, and there's ways to take care of the heat. Decat for starters helps.
Very nice episode. I’m about to take delivery of a new 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200XE over here in Texas. Looking forward to watching more of your channel. Happy Trails!
Awesome, I hope you enjoy your 1200. I love mine!
does the tiny windshield help at all with any of the buffeting and wind pressure at higher speeds?
For me, it helps remove the blast on my chest, resulting in less fatigue, especially in my arms at prolonged highway speeds. Not something probably that noticeable otherwise. It's not drastic, but it adds it up. A quick 45 minute blast on the highway with it, you might not feel like it does much. Remove it, and you will notice. Spend a few hours or more on the highway with and without, and you'll notice it more. Doesn't remove wind from your head area, but you need a bigger flyscreen for that, and personally I think it ruins the look of the bike.
Does this exhaust fit 2020 and up Triumph Scramblers?
It should, there's been no major change to the frame of Street Scramblers/Scrambler 900s that I know of. Should fit any of the liquid cooled 900cc Scramblers as long as you can find one of these exhausts.
Thanks for bringing us along with you guys, I really enjoyed this episode and already looking forward to the next one. Cheers from .au
Thanks so much! Working real hard to get the rest of these videos out, and try to do the adventure justice.
Amazing grit, bro. How is the win at freeway speeds? Trying to decide between the 1200x and the Tiger 900GT Pro.
Thank you! Certainly on the Tiger you're going to have more wind protection than the Scrambler. You can buy some windscreens for the Scrambler but in my opinion they ruin the look of the bike. It's much more fitting to have wind screens on true adventure bikes like the Tiger. But I'm personally used to having a naked bike on the highway. It will tire you out more without large windscreen, but it's not that bad. I use that flyscreen which takes that wind blast off your chest and helps.
👍
Great video. Look forward to the rest of your trip!
Thank you!
Great video guys! Looks like a great adventure.
Thanks Chuck!
The best! Going to be riding moab-flagstaff-abq and cant wait!
Nice, all great areas. Was trying to look for places in Moab but they are hard to get if you're looking for a garage. When you're in Abq (and if you like beer), there's a brewery called Bow and Arrow that had some really good beer, and I guess it's the only brewery in the country that's owned by a couple Native American women. we didn't go to the brewery, but had their Hazy IPA in Santa Fe and it's probably the best Hazy IPA I've had ever.
Oooh so glad to see your videos again!!! Xoxo
Thank you! Hope you guys are doing well!
Aw such a great video guys!! So well done, you guys are too cute and entertaining to watch and great story tellers and amazing quality videos! Well done. Looking forward to watching the stories in Mexico 💜 Big hugs!
Thanks Tammy! Thanks again for the interview!!
